Welcome to Tchotchke, South St. Pete’s Newest Neighborhood Restaurant.
Located just minutes from Downtown St. Peterburg in the historic space formerly known as Munch’s Restaurant and Sundries. Open daily from 7am to 3pm, our café offers a modern take on diner classics with a fresh, international twist.
Preserving St. Pete History
Our founder, Matthew Firosz, brings nearly 30 years of restaurant experience to Tchotchke. Before moving to St. Pete, Matthew owned and operated Nepo 42, a beloved neighborhood bar in Portland, Oregon, for 18 years. Now, he’s dedicated to preserving the legacy of Munch’s while adding his unique flair to the menu and atmosphere.
Tchotchke pays homage to the iconic Munch’s with a display of old photos and articles that celebrate its storied history. We’ve kept the classic, neighborly diner feel while infusing our dishes with global inspiration. You’ll find nods to Munch’s beloved menu items, such as fried green tomatoes featured in three of our dishes, alongside new favorites like low country Creole shrimp and grits.
Sustainable. Fresh. Comfort Food.
Our dishes are prepared in our fully renovated scratch kitchen using local and sustainable, fresh (not frozen) high quality ingredients. A few menu highlights include:
- Biscuit Express: Choose from a selection of biscuit sammi options… all for less than $10!
- Bravas Potatoes: A Spanish dish of fried Yukon potatoes tossed in rich paprika sauce, topped with roasted garlic aioli and two over-easy eggs.
- Shrimp and Grits: Featuring South Carolina grits with extra sharp cheddar cheese, topped with creole sauce, andouille sausage, and blackened shrimp.
- Not Your Mamma’s Mac & Cheese: A creative twist on a classic comfort food.
- Ah Yes, Cuban B: A delicious nod to the Tampa Bay area’s classic Cuban sandwich.
